How old should my baby be to receive a massage?
There is no wrong age to massage a baby. Babies can be massaged while still in the hospital after birth, right through their childhood. Introducing massage early on ensures your baby will quickly learn to love massage and become visibly excited at massage time. As this baby gets older and starts crawling and walking, he or she will still willingly cooperate at massage time because they are used to having massage and they enjoy it. You absolutely can still massage a child at this age, it’s just harder to introduce it for the first time.
What is the best time of day to organize a massage session?
It is best to begin massage 20-30 minutes after he or she has been fed.
What if my baby is unsettled, asleep or requires a feed during the session?
Babies can be unpredictable. We will make every effort to organize your session at a time when your baby is usually in a happy, calm state.
I’ve tried massage at home but my baby didn’t like it - why would this be any different?
Every baby is different and there could be many things that cause your baby to dislike massage. The direction of strokes, your baby’s position, the timing of the session, and even the temperature of the room can all have an effect on your baby. Receiving a massage from a qualified therapist means we can develop a massage session that is unique and beneficial to your baby, and ensuring those sessions will be enjoyable and relaxing for him or her.

What oils are best?
Any organic, cold pressed oils that are fruit, nut, or vegetable based. We use Organic Coconut Oil. If you have a preferred lotion or oil specific to your baby that you’d like us to use, this isn’t a problem.
